Something to say about Adam Burke’s article

I just came across a research article, which wrongfully stated that I was arrested for my role in the 2012 communal violence. The following is a quote from that article, which was written in 2016 by an Adam Burke:
“Individuals associated with the 2012 violence appear to have close ties to ethnic Rakhine politicians such as Kyaw Zaw Oo, a political activist who published an outspoken revisionist tract alleging that Muslims in Rakhine State were aliens. Despite having been arrested for his role in the communal violence of 2012, he stood successfully for a parliamentary seat in Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine State in the November general elections.” (at the bottom paragraph of second page)
I don’t want to make any comments regarding the writer’s description of me, but have to point out that I wasn’t imprisoned in 2013 for any alleged role of mine in the communal violence of 2012. In fact, I was given a three months sentence for my role as one of the leaders who organized some peaceful protest against the then government. My imprisonment verdict was passed under the article (18) of peaceful assembly law. It means that the alleged violation of law by me was leading a peaceful demonstration procession which was organized without authority’s permission. That does not mean anything close to a role in the communal violence of 2012.

၂၀၁၂ လူ႔အဖြဲ႕အစည္းတြင္း အၾကမ္းဖက္မႈျဖစ္စဥ္မ်ားတြင္ ၎ပါ၀င္ခဲ့မႈေၾကာင့္ အဖမ္းခံရခဲ့ျခင္းပင္ ရွိခဲ့ေသာ္လည္း ၿပီးခဲ့ေသာ ႏို၀င္ဘာလ အေထြေထြ ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲတြင္ ရခိုင္ျပည္နယ္ၿမိဳ႕ေတာ္ စစ္ေတြၿမိဳ႕ ကိုယ္စားျပဳ လႊတ္ေတာ္ကိုယ္စားလွယ္ ေနရာ တစ္ေနရာတြင္ ေအာင္ေအာင္ျမင္ျမင္ ေရြးေကာက္ခံခဲ့ရသည္။”
ကၽြန္ေတာ္ႏွင့္ပတ္သက္၍ ထိုစာေရးသူက မွတ္ခ်က္ျပဳေရးသားခ်က္မ်ားကို တံု႔ျပန္ေရးသားလိုျခင္း မရွိေသာ္လည္း ေထာက္ျပရန္ရွိသည္မွာ – ၂၀၁၃ က က်ြန္ေတာ္ေထာင္သြင္း အက်ဥ္းခ်ခံရသည့္ကိစၥမွာ ၂၀၁၂ အၾကမ္းဖက္မႈျဖစ္စဥ္မ်ားတြင္ ပါ၀င္ခဲ့သည္ ဆိုေသာ (စြပ္စြဲခ်က္မ်ား) ေၾကာင့္ မဟုတ္ဘဲ အစိုးရအားဆန္႔က်င္လ်က္ ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းစြာ ဆႏၵထုတ္ေဖာ္မႈတစ္ရပ္ကို ဦးေဆာင္က်င္းပခဲ့ေသာေၾကာင့္ ျဖစ္သည္ ဆိုသည့္ အခ်က္ျဖစ္ေလသည္။
ကၽြန္ေတာ့္အေပၚ ခ်မွတ္ေသာျပစ္ဒဏ္ကို ၿငိမ္း/စု/စီ ဥပေဒ ပုဒ္မ-၁၈ အရ ခ်မွတ္ခဲ့ျခင္း ျဖစ္ပါသည္။ ဆိုလိုသည္မွာ ကၽြန္ေတာ္က်ဴးလြန္ခဲ့သည္ ဆိုေသာ ဥပေဒေဖာက္ဖ်က္မႈမွာ – အာဏာပိုင္မ်ား၏ ခြင့္ျပဳခ်က္ကို မရဘဲ ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းစြာ စီတန္းလမ္းေလွ်ာက္ ဆႏၵထုတ္ေဖာ္မႈတစ္ရပ္ကို ဦးေဆာင္က်င္းပခဲ့ျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္ ဟု အဓိပၸါယ္ရပါသည္။ ၂၀၁၂ အၾကမ္းဖက္မႈျဖစ္စဥ္မ်ားတြင္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ပါ၀င္ခဲ့သည္ ဆိုသည့္ အေၾကာင္းအခ်က္တစ္ရပ္ရပ္ႏွင့္ ဘယ္လိုမွနီးစပ္ အဓိပၸါယ္သက္ေရာက္ႏိုင္ျခင္း မရွိေပ။
အဒမ္ဘားခ္ (Adam Burke) ေရးသားသည့္ (၂၆) မ်က္ႏွာပါ ထို သုေတသနေဆာင္းပါးကို ေအာက္ပါ အင္တာနက္ လိပ္စာမ်ား၌ ဖတ္ရႈႏိုင္ပါသည္။
